| If the bugs in this box were fixed with some NEW software it would be perfect. The STUNNING picture quality makes up for some of the short-comings. |

| I got the SV-360 Premier box after reading dishonest misrepresented reviews about it saying that it was wonderful. Also I was naive to ignore some of the issues that people had with connecting hard drives to the system. First the system aesthetically speaking it is okay. I enjoyed that part. The graphics, meaning when you turn it on and its not showing a channel, the menus, etc. They were pretty good. The blind scan portion of it was very uncool because it was just a percentage bar showing the progress but not what transponders , what it found. BTW it took forever and one or two times it completely froze on me. Not a good thing! Channel changing was okay from time to time it wasnt good but I will be nice and blame my motor. The menus were not very good for someone who is new to FTA. I'm not and I had a little trouble navigating. I like most people had very hard time setting up the positions. USALS was completely unfunctional . I set it on 110w and it put me on 72W USALS. Although it helped me setup the diseqc by starting me at 72w it was not the intended purpose. The optical connector in the back to my surround sound system was half functional because it did not work on any of the AC3 carrying channels. There are some channels on fta that are completely in ac3 so if they dont work . well ur f'ed. So that pissed me off. the recordings from the pvr were no good because i had to reformat it like every 2 days. a and reset the box because it would corrupt the hard drive. I tried to get help from the customer service but they would only answer the sales number and not the customer service number . They would direct you to their email. They e-mailed me back . Then lied to me telling me that they couldnt help because there were "more than 50 dolby streams" which is a lie. Instead of just saying we know it doesnt work they lied to me. So I sent the box back for a refund. I like the features that it was supposed to provide but it provided them half assed so I decided to just go with a box that does what it says it'll do. My advice, dont buy Sonicview. Also beware of manufacturers posting bogus reviews on FTA sites to push their phony products. |
